This policy applies to plantbaes.net (https://plantbaes.net). The operator can be reached at info@plantbaes.net. If this policy and a shorter notice on the site disagree, this page controls.

Who we are

plantbaes.net is an independent educational site about plant-based race fueling. There are no user accounts and no mailing list. The Fuel System PDF is not on sale, so we do not take payments or store card details.

Information we collect

Information you send

• Email you send to info@plantbaes.net, including your address and whatever you put in the message.
• Text you type into the tools — meal descriptions, body-mass figures, caffeine stacks, ingredient lists, and similar inputs. Those strings are sent to our servers so the tool can run.

Information collected automatically

• Hosting and server logs: IP address, user agent, requested URL, and time. The current host is a standard Next.js host (Vercel or an equivalent). Logs exist so the site can run, debug errors, and block abuse.
• Cookies and similar storage, described on the cookie policy.

We do not keep a profile of you in the food or product database. That database holds catalog rows, not visitor accounts.

How tool inputs are processed

Several tools send the text you typed to OpenAI's application programming interface so a language model can map meals or labels onto our food and product list. Carbohydrate, fiber, sodium, and verification status still come from that list, not from the model. OpenAI processes the text under its API terms. We do not publish your tool inputs as articles and we do not use them to identify you.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also visit aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized ads, or youronlinechoices.eu if you are in Europe.

We do not sell personal information. Advertising partners may set their own cookies as described in the cookie policy. When ads are shown to visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, consent for non-essential advertising cookies will be collected through Google's consent tools or another mechanism that meets Google's EU user consent policy.

• To operate the site and the tools
• To answer email
• To keep the site secure and to diagnose faults
• To measure, with cookies you accept, how advertising is delivered
• To meet legal duties if a request or claim arrives

Legal bases, where they apply

If a privacy law that uses “legal bases” applies to you, we rely on: operating the site and answering you as a legitimate interest; consent for non-essential advertising cookies; and a legal obligation when the law requires us to keep or disclose a record.

How long we keep it

Email is kept as long as the conversation and any follow-up reasonably require, then deleted from the active inbox in the ordinary course. Hosting logs rotate on the host's schedule. Tool inputs are processed to return a result; we do not build a lasting personal nutrition file from them. Cookie lifetimes are in the cookie policy.

Who we share it with

• The hosting provider, so the site can be served
• OpenAI, when a tool needs the language-model mapping step
• Google and its advertising partners, when ads are served
• Authorities, if the law requires it

Those processors may store data outside your country. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for their independent marketing.

Your choices and rights

You can refuse non-essential cookies, use the site without sending tool text, and email info@plantbaes.net to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those words are used in the CCPA/CPRA, and you may still email the same address to ask for a copy or a deletion. If a supervisor or attorney-general is the right next step where you live, we will not stand in the way of that complaint.

Children

This site is written for adult runners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child sent us personal information, email info@plantbaes.net and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after that date means the new text applies to later visits.
